A Culinary Specialty from Austria FeaturedWritten by Leszek Swiatek
Visitors of the Europe Now Show will have the opportunity to visit the booth of Styrian Gold for an exquisite tasting of a culinary specialty from Austria: An oil that is manually pressed from soft-shell pumpkin seeds that are cultivated predominately in East Styria.
Styrian Gold has the oil shipped in bulk to their location in Alliston, Ontario where they bottle it by hand. “Those who taste our oil usually buy it. Come by our booth and try it”, says co-owner Arne Kluge. He is looking forward to getting in touch not just with new customers but also with other business owners. “In Europe, several high-end chefs are using this oil, for example for ice creams and cakes. We would like to meet them at the show to expand our business here in Canada.”
Because of the growing demand, Arne and Ernestine have expanded their portfolio to a variety of other pumpkin seed-based products, ranging from chocolate and cinnamon covered seeds to a variation of pumpkin pesto, honey and jams.
